Tea grows on farms scattered across many countries and landscapes, yet the people tending those bushes often work in isolation from one another. The International Tea Farms Alliance was established as a non-profit organisation by tea farmers themselves, acting as a bridge between producers and the tea lovers who seek out distinctive, single-origin leaves. Rather than functioning as a commercial brand, the Alliance builds open lines of communication so that farm practices, regional cultures and the craft of cultivation can be understood more widely.
Members range from small family-run plots to larger estates and garden companies in Japan, China, India, Indonesia, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Korea and Hawaii, among others, spanning green, black and naturally processed teas. By connecting estates with estates and estates with curious drinkers, the Alliance encourages shared learning about production, harvest timing and processing. The goal is a healthier, better-informed tea trade in which quality and transparency sit at the centre of every relationship.
Beyond the farms, the Alliance organises activities that bring different parts of the tea world together, including tastings, cultural exchange, articles, news, blogs, interviews, press coverage, internships and ambassador programmes. A Global Tea Tasters Club gives members and supporters a way to explore many regions side by side, while an application and membership process allows new estates and supporters to join the network. Educational material on tea culture, business and industry practice helps close the gap between grower knowledge and enthusiast curiosity.
Staying connected with the Alliance is straightforward, and the Connect page gathers the main channels in one place. Readers can subscribe to a newsletter for announcements and notes from the organisation and its member farms, follow short updates on social platforms between editions, or send a written enquiry regarding membership, farms and the tasting club. For anyone who wishes to support tea farming, understand where their leaf originates, or simply follow the ongoing work of the Alliance, these routes offer regular points of contact.
